About Northwest Assembly of God

What is a church?

We believe a church is more than a property or building.  It's the people that make a church.  At Northwest we believe in our people, because it's our people that make us a great church.

Northwest is committed to people, and we hope that you find that everyone fits in and everyone from the youngest baby to the eldest senior has a place here.

We've got something for everyone.
If you ever want to come by and check us out, we invite you to try one of our two Sunday Morning Environments.  At
, our 8:45 AM service, you'll find a contemporary worship atmosphere.  We sing songs to a God who loves us, pray to a God who hears us, and learn about a God who always amazes us.

If that's too early for you, or you want something more relaxed, we invite you to , our 10:30 casual environment.  Come as you are in order to explore and experience our perfect Heavenly Father.   In the Gathering you can explore aspects of worship and real teaching custom-tailored for today's families.

Nextstep
Life is always changing, and it takes work to keep up.  Nextstep is our midweek environment which meets every Wednesday night at 7.  Nextstep is design as a service where we have extended times of friendship with one another, we also give extended times of worship to celebrate our God, as well as extended times of prayer because we believe God meets our needs.  Midweek also host environments for children and students as well.  If you want more, don't miss Nextstep, Wednesdays at 7 PM.  Nextstep is cross-training for the race of life.

Children
We are crazy about kids!  From the youngest baby to each 6th grader, Upside Down Kids is a place for Northwest kids to have fun while learning about who God is and how He wants us to live.  Our interactive atmospheres, personal care, and attention to detail make Upside Down Kids and its departments (Tiny Town our infant & toddler nursery, and UpTown, our preschool environment) a place you can feel good about your child being at during any one of our services.

Student Ministry
Element 78 is made for 7th-12th grade students.  Each Wednesday at 7 PM E78 hosts unforgettable environments designed to grow the students spiritually in the areas of strength, purity, and intergrity.  The goal is to offer a setting that is enjoyable, safe and inviting complete with game systems, iPod listening stations, a snackbar, and much more.

Element 78 uses dynamic teachings designed to connect with today students.  Using drama, illustrations, humor, video, and music, the E78 team expresses Bibilcal truth in a real way.

Fuel is specifically designed for both 7th and 8th graders.  Meeting Sunday mornings at 10:30 AM, during the Gathering, students will experience crazy games, small group studies, and focused teaching for their age.

Strength In Numbers
We believe none of us are suppose to live life on our own, in fact we believe we're better together!  At Northwest we want to create communities where no one has to be left out, and where everyone fits in.  We hope from the first time you step foot in Northwest, whether you find yourself in 900 North (our cafe) or checking you kids into the nursery, you'll feel welcomed like a great friend.  And if you ever want more, here's what you can find.

Social Communities
Isn't fun better when you share it someone else?  Whether you're a 20something or a 70something, you can find a social community at Northwest that gets together and does something...fun.

doma

For those in college and just starting in their careers, we've got doma.  College and career-aged people, up to about 35 get together regularly for nights of great activities or just hanging out.

Escape
Get a break from life with Escape, our social community for young marrieds and married couples with young kids.  The best part of Escape is, no kids.  We offer free childcare for each monthly event.

New Horizons
For couples and individuals in their mid to late 40s through 65, we offer New Horizons, discovering life after little kids.
Meeting monthly New Horizons offers events like ball games and cookouts as well as more formal gatherings just to blow off steam and have fun.

Young At Heart
Our retired community, Young At Heart seeks to provide opportunities for fellowship that are neither physically taxing nor expensive, having periodic worship services during the week, and other activities on a regular basis.

Community Groups
Life is BIG and so many times we try and do it all on our own.

At Northwest, we believe that we all need one another, and what better place to find a place that fits than Community Groups?

Community Groups are a predictable small-group environment where participants will pursue and experience authentic community (accountability, belonging, & care) and spiritual growth (intimacy with God, community with insiders, and influence with outsiders).

Northwest hosts stage-of-life specific groups for everyone, college through retirement age that meet all around the northwest suburbs of Chicago.
